Homag and Planit Host Successful Three-Day CABINET VISION Training Seminar

Elevating Woodworking Expertise: Planit Canada and Homag Forge a Path to Success with Three Days of Immersive CABINET VISION Training

Mississauga, 24 November 2023 – Planit Canada, a leading software solutions provider for the woodworking industry, recently concluded a series of comprehensive CABINET VISION training seminars at the Homag Canada facility from November 21 to 23, 2023. The event catered to both novice and experienced users, offering invaluable insights into the latest software developments and enhancing participants’ proficiency.

The highlight of these seminars was the strategic partnership with Homag, a globally renowned provider of woodworking machinery and solutions. This collaboration allowed attendees to immerse themselves in real-world applications of the CABINET VISION software and watch live demonstrations of Homag’s cutting-edge technologies.

Day 1: CABINET VISION Essentials

The first day focused on fundamental aspects for new users and served as a refresher for existing ones. Attendees delved into topics such as the levels of CABINET VISION, system preferences, material management, and more. The practical sessions covered crucial elements like placing and modifying walls, cabinets, countertops, and moldings, providing a comprehensive overview of job construction.

Day 2: CABINET VISION Designer Training

Geared towards both new and experienced designers, the second day saw participants designing kitchens, customizing cabinets, and mastering 3D rendering. The training included sessions on customizing layers, dimension styles, and utilizing CAD tools for creating elevation, floorplans, and detailed shop drawings. The highlight was the seamless integration of CABINET VISION with VORTEK Spaces for enhanced 3D rendering capabilities.

Day 3: CABINET VISION Advanced

Designed for experienced users, the final day delved into advanced skills, covering the nine basic parameters, the object tree, and the manipulation of attributes. Participants learned to add intelligence to parts, create and save library parts, and employ the User Coordinate System (UCS) to efficiently manipulate parts and conditions.

These seminars’ success was marked by the depth of technical knowledge imparted and the opportunity to see Homag’s state-of-the-art automated and robotized work cell comprised of a Storteq P-300 intelligent material management system feeding a Centateq N500 CNC equipped with automatic labelling. The Nest is verified by an overhead vision system and is then sorted and unloaded by a class-leading Automatech Robot dispatching parts to a Drillteq D200 dowelling CNC and unloading the processed parts onto its appropriate outfeed belt for downstream edge banding processing.
